10001 Cocktails

Free Shaken, but not particularly stirred

This claims to have more recipes than any other, sourced from the shot-cocktail-recipe.com website, where you can also go to look up any missing mixes. It's all you need to stand behind a faux-leather-clad bar and impress friends - there's even a randomly-selected pickup line on the front page so you  can deliver smooth one-liners as you shake your thing (beware, these lines are older than God).

Extensive, But ultimately slightly disappointing booze app that is missing a few crucial elements.

Drinks recipes can be browsed A-Z, and by their main ingredient (beer, really?) or type, such as cocktails, punches and shots. You can search the database (or the website), and favourite drinks can be saved to a list. If you've got a bottle to finish there's a list of similar drinks available in most cases.

Cocktail recipes can be a matter for argument, and you might find yourself disagreeing with more than a few of these obviously crowd sourced recipes, but it is possible to add a review to the app's website. However, 10001 Cocktails won't make you a slick bartender, because what most of these recipes are lacking are any tips on how to finesse drinks by decanting, or what order to add the ingredients.
