Free Memory-based language learner
Obenkyo introduces the basics of Japanese using memory as its main study tool.Covering Katakana, Hiragana, Numbers and Kanji, the study section lets you see demonstrations of how characters should be formulated and then, using handwriting recognition, enables users to input the characters on the screen using finger swipes.
The app is slick and stylish, but is by no means a fast track to fluency in Japanese, as some prior basic knowledge of the language is clearly required. What it does offer, however is a great-looking and well-thought cut application that provides a great resource for those wanting to give their Japanese a refresher course.
