The BBC has made it clear that it wants to offer great apps for its outstanding websites. So far the reality of this has been the launch of the BBC iPlayer app for both Android and iPhone. Although this is welcome, we would have liked to have seen a slick app made for the BBC's websites.

At the moment this is a dream, but we are lucky there is a growing number of third-party developers that are more than happy to offer a decent alternative in the short term.
And one of the best that we have encountered that offers this is Beeb Anywhere.

Like its name suggests,you can get feeds of the BBC's content on your device as quick as you like. This app offers content from the BBC news site and BBC sport sites and you can even read the content offline.

Like on the official websites, you can check out content from a number of different categories -these include all the sports you can think of and regional news for the news section of the app.

Although it is rot affiliated to the BBC, it does a great job of offering the BBC's content in app form. And at just 58k it's hardly going to bother your storage.
