Ego - iphone 4

   Ego

£1.19/$1.99 How popular are you?

All businesses know that it's vital to monitor how many people have visited their website. For the rest of us, this info just strokes - or destroys - our egos. Either way, Ego aims to show you these figures on a single, login-free screen.

It supports Google Analytics and Mint, and can report RSS subscriber numbers fed through a FeedBurner engine. You can also add tracking for the image-sharing site Ember, the hosting solution Squarespace, Tumblr and Vimeo. There's no support, you note, for Flickr or YouTube.

The data's not particularly granular (tap the module to cycle between visits today, this week, this month and this year) and it would have been good to tap a button to launch us into the tracking site. You would need, for example, the separate Analytics App to see a proper, detailed overview of your site's Google Analytics performance and trends, but it's still a handy way to get an at-a-glance idea of your professional or personal popularity and clout, and ifs often a useful first indication of unusual activity on your sites.
