Ever wondered why your mail can sometimes take an age to arrive? We may finally have the answer in the form of this tricky little gem. In each level of The Package, a cardboard box has to be transported from the designated entry point to the given exit by means of positioning a number of handy gadgets - such as fans, conveyor belts, springy boxing gloves and explosive charges - around the warehouse.
As play advances, the rooms of the warehouse become more hazardous, featuring more elaborate routes from start to finish, nooks and crannies in which to get trapped, and even crushing machines and furnaces that destroy the package. Health and safety would have a field day in this place...
There are 20 levels in total, which doesn't sound that many on paper. However, this game chooses not to guide you through lots of introductory challenges and instead starts off tricky, then rapidly becomes incredibly difficult with little help available if you're struggling. Each level is a long process of trial and error, but ultimately satisfying if you find a solution. Part The Incredible Machine, part Lemmings, part mail sorting office, it draws its inspiration from a number of sources, yet retains a personality all its own, Now optimised for better performance on the iPhone 4, there's never been a better time to receive The Package.
