With the UK experiencing its highest level of unemployment for the past five years, UK Jobs has become one of the most popular downloaded apps from the App Store. The app s a simple concept; it's a search engine that scours job sites on the Internet to find advertised professions that match your search terms, including job title and location.
UK Jobs searches well-known sites including Gumtree, careerandjobsUK.com, C4J, Jobs2View and Salestarget.co.uk. When you click on any job that takes your fancy, you're taken to
the listing on the relevant website. The toolbar is still present so you can skip back to the listings, save or email the job opportunity.
Once on the listing, the app makes good use of the Safari, by providing you with the full functionality of each job website, including the ability to apply online and post your CV. Although it doesn't include the extensive listings other job sites include, it's a fantastic application for searching jobs on the go.
It seems earlier editions had some problems with bugs, but the version we tested (l .2) runs smoothly and carries out searches quickly. With a simple to use interface, UK Jobs does exactly what you want it to do.
