Discover how you can make the most of the Internet with your Android tablet .
There are lots of different ways you can use the Internet with your tablet, but browsing the Web has to be one of the most popular. Just as with your desktop computer, there's so much you can do with the Internet, and when you have a tablet at your disposal using it's a lot more convenient.
One of the great plus points of tablets over laptops is that they are easy to carry around and use in a wide range of different places. You might use your tablet when lounging in your front room, have it in your bag when you are out and about with friends, or have it with you while you are taking a break in a café and having a quiet coffee.
In all these locations you are likely to find Internet connections are available, either via your own SIM card or through a public Wi-Fi zone. In such situations it's very easy to get the tablet out and be surfing the Web in seconds.
Even if you had a laptop computer with you in these locations you might be less inclined to switch it on simply because laptops take longer to get started. Tablets are so much like 'instant on' devices that it's a very short wait between deciding to go onto the Web and actually being there. It's a far cry from waiting the couple of minutes it might take for your laptop to get set for a surfing session.
The big screen size of a tablet makes browsing the web a treat too.Yes, you can get onto the Web via your smartphone, and that may well be running the same operating system as your Android tablet, but the advantages gained from a bigger screen are massive. First off, the larger display makes reading text and seeing the detail of Web pages much easier. You may not need to zoom in from the home page to start reading, which makes getting to what you want that much faster. Secondly, you are likely to find it's easier to tap at links to new pages with a finger. Small smartphone screens can mean this is a bit hit-and-miss, but on a tablet's display links are larger and simpler to hit accurately.
And finally, entering text is easier on a tablet than on a smartphone. Big on-screen 'Qwerty' keyboards allow for greater accuracy.Things like sending emails or updating your Facebook profile are a lot easier with a tablet than they are on a smartphone. Factor in that it's easy to share what you see on the Web simply by passing your tablet around, and that even streamed video is within your grasp, and you may find that using the Internet on your tablet becomes a key activity
