What now seems like a fairly basic first-person experience was once pretty revolutionary. But in terms of fun, the mix of action and gore still retains its magic. Plus, with a bit of tweaking here and there, it looks less pixelated than before. It has an excellent wireless local multiplayer option, although those hoping for online play will be disappointed. A few more tweaks might have been welcome, but as retooled classics go, this one presses most of the right buttons.
