$1.99 £1.22 Pure class
The smartphone is an essential gadget for anyone who loves staying in touch with friends and colleagues, no matter where they roam. There's already a plethora of Android apps for accessing your email and social mecia accounts, but we were fond of the Pure Messenger widget which compiles your main feeds into a compact window right there in front of you on your phone's screen.
Opening up several applications to keep track of your Gmail, Facebook and Twitter accounts is both time consuming and a total pain. Pure Messenger streams content from all three, and also updates with any text messages you receive in the meantime, so you don't need to fiddle around with apps at all.
Download and set up is a quick, simple process. The interface is clean, updates are easy to read, and you can even configure Pure Messenger's skin and layout to suit your personal taste.
We didn't notice any slowdown while the widget was running, although the refresh rate seems to be every 10 to 15 minutes, which is a longtime if your Facebook and Twitter feeds are as hectic as ours.
Another minor issue is that you can only add one Gmail account at a time, but we'd still recommend Pure Messenger over most of the competition that's out there.
