Combining separate messenger programs into one, it's one for die-hard fans of instant messaging
Free Medium is the message
One massive problem with instant messaging is the sheer number of messenger services that currently exist. Brands such as ICQ and Yahoo Messenger may be less popular now, but the likes of Facebook and Google have joined the party, and if your mates favour a number of different services you have little option but to use them all to be able to stay in touch.
Palringo aims to solve this problem, by combining these separate messenger programs into a single free app.
Once you've downloaded Palringo, you need to register by submitting your email address. You're then free to chat with your contacts, with the likes of MSN, Windows Live and Google Talk all supported.
Not only can you chat, you can also send pics and voice messages to your friends. Since everything is done via 3G or Wi-Fi, this won't cost you anything besides your standard data charges.
We found things occasionally slowed to a crawl during chats as Palringo gobbled our phone's resources, but newer Android
handsets should have little problem. There's a multitude of messenger apps out there, but this is a strong choice thanks to its flexibility. Recommended for any instant messaging fiends who are strapped for cash.
