Free Android hijacks iPhone
Let's face it, the majority of Android users have at one time or other looked longingly at an Apple iPhone and wanted a similarly slick user interface for their smartphone. It's nothing to be ashamed of: the Californian company is renowned for bringing the sparkle to an operating system.
Well, with Handcent SMS you can have the best of both worlds - an iPhone-like look for your text messages with the safety of knowing that it is actually Android underneath. Lead the app up and you will see a
re-skinned version cf your text messages. Click into any conversation and, wait for it, your SMS now carries the same bubble theme as you get on an iPhone. Crazy, we know.
The app did force close on us a few times, but we forgave it every time the pretty bubbles appeared once more.
The only real problem is that if you want to keep the bubble look alive, you have to remember to log into the app every time you message someone - something we kept forgetting to do.
Those that don't like the choice of font that are available will be pleased to hear that there are a multitude of font packs also available for free.
