Thick Buttons Keyboard - android Communication

A genuinely worthwhile idea that is rather let down by some frustrating operational hitches.

Free Fat-digit typing tool

The Android keyboard is a marvel of modern design, enabling a fluid typing experience, unless of course you have big fingers. Thick Buttons is, therefore, aimed at those who often mis-hit the virtual keys. It works by analysing the letters you have entered so far and cleverly guessing which keys you are likely to press next, and then highlighting and enlarging them so they are easier to select. The system really does work, and only abbreviations and slang words :hrow Thick Buttons off.

Set-up is simple, with a clear guide leading you through the brief steps. However, we immediately noticed slow-down as we started tc type an email on one of our older Android phones.

Fast typers will also suffer from the constant resizing of the buttons, which throws off the position with every letter you type. Thick Buttons led us to mis-hit keys more often than before and only very slow typers who search for each button in turn will notice any benefit.

It's certainly an intriguing idea, but we recommend it only if you're really struggling with Android's keyboard.
