LogMeln Ignition

Now it's possible to be 'always on', even when you're away from the office

Complete access to your desktop computer and the ability to open files and run emails direct from the app.

Now it's possible to be 'always on', even when you're away from the office There's nothing worse than leaving work and forgetting to send yourself a very important document that needs further adjustments to be made. While the world cf connected products means that we have an 'always on' existence, if you can't connect to somewhere like your work's desktop to get something you need then always on is still something of a turn off.

There's nothing new about accessing a computer remotely -your work's IT team has been doing it -or years - but the fact that you can do it straight from your mobile shows just how far smartphones have travelled in such a short space of time.

LogMeln is a veteran of the remote access game and its Android app is one slick programme. Some may baulk at the price, but you do get complete access to your computer for your money and the ability to open all files and run your emails straight from the app.

Set up takes just minutes and the app itself weighs in at a satisfactory 1.7M B. Once you are signed up to LogMelr online, all you have to do is type in your log-in details and you're away. It does take a few seconds to access your computer (and it has to be switched on at the other end) but once you are in, it is fairly simple to
navigate your way around. It takes some getting used to, seeing your desktop computer on a small screen, but as long as you keep your thumb on the cursor you should be fine.

In our initial tests, we found the screen resolution to be a little low-res for cur liking, but this can be upped to suit your taste. As an added bonus, quick key shortcuts like Ctrl+Alt+Delete are embedded in   the app and there are a number of other shortcuts as well.

A recent update to the application means that LogMeln is also now perfect for use with Android tablets. And using it in such a manner is a great experience, given that the size of the screen is much larger and easier to operate.

While loading up docs on a 3-4in screen is tricky, which the majority of users will do, LogMeln is a great app for checking your PC while you are away and is worth every penny for the peace of mind this brings.
