Everyone has the potential to be something of a comedian at times but often, when you really need a one-liner to fill that awkward silence or cheer up a chum, you search your comedy pockets only to come up with nothing but old boiled sweets and crumpled tissues.

iLaugh was born to make you - and your friends - happy. The app provides speedy access to a database of more than 50,000 funnies. These range from traditional jokes to spoof articles and stories that you can make your own.

And, unlike most of your relatives, the app serves up a new joke every time you start it up - or refresh by using the talent show judge-esque'next button' - so there's no chance of you seeming repetitive or people sussing that you're not actual y that funny.

Of course, not all jokes will be to everyone's tastes and the next button certainly comes in handy here. In more extreme cases, you can flag the content as inappropriate. You can also adjust the settings to filter out adult humour and to select those categories of jokes in which you're more interested. It's quite a basic act but comedy doesn't have to be complicated.
