Foursquare - android Communication

Without: signing your friends up to this geolocation service too, it's of limited appeal.
Free Of interest to a niche market only

The service behind this app remains one of the most popular geolocation options around. That saic, its shine has been removed somewhat by the advent of Facebook Places - a similar tool but one that has the advantage of being integrated with the social network site (though Foursquare can also post updates to your Facebook wall).

Still,as well as seeing what your friends are up to, Foursquare has a genuine use for researching what people think of different places. It really does enable people to see the places their friends rate highly and shore experiences.

The main problem with Foursquare is that it needs your friends to get involved too - if they're not signed up to the service, ifs highly unlikely that you'll want to use it. The app awards people the 'mayorship' of locations they regularly check into and, while fun, it is a little pointless.

The app makes it easy to share your location and other information but, unless your friends and family are also Foursquare converts, you'll find it of limited use.
